It was a lethargic start for both teams as they appeared to have troubles finding their legs. Aside from some saves from the goaltenders and 3 combined powerplays there wasn't a whole lot happening in the opening 20 minutes.
The Grizzlies would open the scoring early in the second period as Nick Guiney took a slap shot from in close that found its way through Shortridge to make it 1-0. The Vipers wouldn't be able to tie the game up with the tying goal until late in the frame as Mac Ferners shot from the point made its through a maze of people and into the back of the net.
The third period was a good one for both sides, but only one team would score any goals and that happened to be the Vipers. Riley Brandt scored a beauty at 8:16 to make it 2-1. The Grizzlies had to take some chances and when they did it left them vulnerable for odd man rushes and Liam Finlay would finish off a long 3 on 1 to make it 3-1. Bo Pellah would score his first of the season into an empty net while his team was shorthanded to ice it 4-1.

The Vipers continue to build on the positives. For this Vernon team confidence at times is fleeting and this afternoons game helped a lot. Two straight games they've improved and that is the foundation for success.
The Snakes head home now to play the Nanaimo Clippers for the second time in 6 days. This game should be interesting because of the way it ended at the Frank Crane Arena. This one you won't want to miss in person.
